Smithsonian Museum

Smithsonian Museum is one of the largest Museum in the world. The Smithsonian focuses on education and research of the people. With most of the facilities located in Washington, Smithsonian is a government funded institute that includes 9 research centers and 19 museums and zoos. The institute was founded by a British scientist named James Smithsonian who donated his money for the "Establishment for the increase & diffusion of Knowledge among men". There are several art museums in the Smithsonian museum but  the one that I want to talk about is the Hirshhorn museum. The Hirshhorn museum, designed by Gordon Bunshaft, started around 1960 with the permanent art collections of Joseph Hirshhorn. Hirshhorn museum is an important museum in America because it is the first museum devoted to modern art. There are around 6000 art works in the museum. Most of the art works focuses on French sculpture, 19th-century American painting, and the first generation of the New York School. A famous part of the Hirshhorn museum is the garden. The garden contains artworks of traditional historical themes that addresses emotion, politics, religion, and economics.
